Ms. Queenie Qiu joined Jiaquan in 2012 and has been in the IP industry for over 10 years. She is very familiar with Chinese patent and trademark application and prosecution proceedings and has been committed to assisting overseas clients in handling various intellectual property applications and protection matters in China for many years. At the same time, she also provides overseas IP protection consulting for domestic clients, especially application and protection strategies in Europe, the USA, Africa, Canada and Australia.

Ms. Qiu has extensive experience in patent invalidation and dealing with the complex procedures of trademark registration process. Her representative cases include 

1.    Assisted her client and attorney in filing an invalidation request against a Chinese invention patent in the biomedical field in 2016. The case took nearly six years and all the involved claims were finally invalidated after going through 4 proceedings of invalidation, first trial and second trial of administrative litigation, and an invalidation retrial. The case was selected as a 2021 typical case of IP rights by the Guangdong IP Protection Association. 

2.    Represented her client Company C in a difficult Chinese trademark registration application and eventually obtained the registration certificate in 2024 after five years of going through multiple procedures, including rejection review, seeking coexistence, non-use cancellation, back-up new application for registrations, the first instance, second instance, and retrial of administrative litigation for the rejection review. The client highly affirmed the professional work of Ms. Qiu and the trademark team over the years.
