Mr. TAN joined Jiaquan in 2009, with exemplary skills, talent and leadership,has  now become Vice President of Jiaquan IP Law.

Mr TAN earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Science and Technology (Microelectronics Technology) and Master of Laws degree in Intellectual Property at the South China University of Technology. Mr TAN is an experienced lawyer, patent attorney, senior intellectual property specialist, associate patent researcher, arbitrator, judicial appraiser, engineer, leading personnel of Guangzhou innovation and entrepreneurship service, and one of the Top 10 Outstanding Patent Attorneys in Guangdong.

Mr TAN has served as a patent agency for more than 15 years, and has dealt with more than 600 patent applications and represented over 300 patent litigation and invalidation cases. He has represented clients including well-known enterprises such as Procter & Gamble, Gillette, Hitachi, Tencent, Midea, China Telecom and Kuka Home. He is familiar with both the invalidation and litigation procedures of standard-essential patent in communication engineering. The patent infringement and trade secret cases he represented have been selected as Top 10 Typical Intellectual Property Cases by the High People's Court of Shandong Province, Intermediate People’s Court of Jinan, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court, and Intermediate People’s Court of Jiangmen. Some of them have been selected five times as the Top 10 Typical Intellectual Property Cases by the Guangdong IP Protection Association. Mr. TAN is an expert in patent application, invalidation and litigation in the field of computer software, Internet technology, AI technology, electronic information, electronic circuits, microelectronics, embedded systems, industrial controllers, communication protocols, mechanism and design. With his extensive experience in the judicial practice of intellectual property, he has handled more than 50 intellectual property judicial authentication cases and more than 10 complaint cases during the China Import and Export Fair.

Representative Cases

1. The three cases of Huawei vs. INVT SPE Ltd. Confirmation Non-Infringement of Patent Rights, have been selected as one of the top ten typical cases of Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court in 2022. On behalf of INVT SPE, Mr TAN presented a letter of commendation to the court, and was interviewed and participated in the filming of a promotional video for the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court. （2023）

2. The case of Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. and Hitachi Building (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. suing Li for counterfeiting registered trademarks and infringing trade secrets has been selected as one of the top ten typical cases of intellectual property in Jiangmen Court in 2022 and a typical case of intellectual property protection in Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Association in 2023. Recognized by the rights holder as a milestone case of Intellectual Property protection for Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. （2023）

3. The "Gillette Limited Liability Company and Guangzhou Procter&Gamble Co., Ltd. Shaver Invention Patent and Trademark 'Combination Fist' Rights Protection Case" has been recognized as an outstanding foreign-related case in Lingnan intellectual property litigation in 2022. The rights holder expressed gratitude to the Jiaquan team for their support and conscientious and professional representation. （2022）

4. The case of Administrative Dispute over Invalidation of Invention Patent Right in the Field of Biomedicine was selected as one of the typical cases of intellectual property by the Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Association in 2021. （2022）

5. The case of Lianrou Company vs. Huajian Company for the dispute over the temporary protection period usage fee of an invention patent" was selected as one of the top ten typical intellectual property cases in 2018 by the Shandong Provincial High People's Court, Jinan Intermediate People's Court, and Guangdong Intellectual Property Protection Association. （2019）

6. Representing North American Table Tennis Co., Ltd. in a lawsuit against Lin for infringement of a design patent, Mr. TAN successfully won the case within 5 months, stopped the other party's infringement behavior and obtained compensation smoothly. （2014）

7. During the 112th Canton Fair, Mr. Tan filed a complaint on behalf of Brevile, an Australian company, against 9 infringing companies. and successfully prompted 8 companies to remove infringing products. （2012）
