In recent years, breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) technology have emerged continuously, making it a significant driving force behind a new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation. The number of patent applications related to AI has rapidly increased. As an effective means of incentivizing and protecting innovative achievements, the patent system plays a crucial role in promoting the development of AI technology and in regulating and guiding its application. To interpret the patent examination policies comprehensively and deeply in the field of AI within the existing legal framework of China, address the key legal issues that concern innovators, and enhance the quality of patent applications, the following guidelines for AI-related invention patent applications have been released.
